Beef services
Our farm team provide a range of services to keep your animals happy and healthy.

Fertility
Pregnancy scanning is a key part of monitoring the fertility of your herd.
Our vets are equipped with ultrasound scanners, which gives them the ability to detect the presence and age of foetuses.
This can be done routinely through the season, in batches or as a one-off for individual cows.
Cows that aren’t performing as expected can also be checked. The ideal time to scan cows is 35-100 days in calf.
Cows further along in calf can be scanned, but ageing of the foetus is less accurate after 100 days.
Synchronisation programs for cows and heifers are one way to improve your calving spread or allow for fixed-time AI. We also offer bull testing.
There are a couple of different options available, so it’s worth having a chat with one of our vets to see if one of these programs might be right for what you are trying to achieve in your herd.

Health plans
We all know that prevention is better than cure. We also know how busy things can get on a farm through the year.
A health plan can be a great way to make sure that none of the crucial animal health treatments get missed.
Your health plan can be an integrated part of an assurance scheme such as Red Tractor or the government’s Health and Welfare Pathway, but it can also just be a unique plan designed around your farming system.
There is no minimum number of animals needed for a health plan, it can include an individual or the entire herd, the key is that it is unique to your farm.

Assurance reviews
Red Tractor coming to call? We can help by carrying out health and performance reviews, updating herd health plans to reflect current farm practices and ensuring you are supplied with up-to-date information on industry and government initiatives.

Lame cows
Lameness in cattle can be a real issue, not only for animal welfare but also for their production and longevity in the herd.
Our services include examination and treatment of individual lame cows, but this can also be extended to a herd investigation.
Some of our vets have completed special training to support clients in improving the management and treatment of lame cows on their farm.

Youngstock health
Youngstock are the future of your herd. There are many challenges facing them which can impede their growth.
From prevention plans to disease management, there are plenty of ways we can help your calves reach their potential.

- Housing
- Parasite management plans
