Emergencies during our opening hours
If you and your pet find yourself in an emergency situation during our opening hours, please call ahead to advise us that you are attending the practice so that we can ensure we are ready for your arrival.
Emergencies outside of our opening hours
Outside of our normal opening hours, small animal emergency care is available through Vets Now and Animal Trust Vets Pet A&E.
If you have an emergency, please call one of our branches and follow the instructions so your call can be directed to the right out-of-hours provider.
Vets Now
You can contact Vets Now directly on 01642 269398.
Vets Now have a dedicated team of night vets and nurses who specialise in emergency care, so you can trust that your pet will be in safe hands when our branches are closed.
Vets Now will advise you of the cost of the emergency consultation when you arrive. As a guide, their consult fee is £90.75, plus an out-of-hours fee of £211.75. Their service is available for emergencies only. For all routine care, please call us during our normal opening hours.

Animal Trust
You can contact Animal Trust Vets Pet A&E directly on 01642 130360.
Animal Trust’s Pet A&E service has experienced emergency teams on site around the clock, providing urgent consultations, emergency surgery and inpatient hospital care when day practices are closed.
Animal Trust charge an out of hours supplement of £79, with treatment and hospital care charged at their normal daytime pricing.

Farm out of hours service
If you have an emergency at any time, please call us on 01287 623802.
We can give you advice over the phone and arrange for an ambulatory vet to visit you, if required.
Our 24/7 out-of-hours farm services are run by our own ambulatory team members.

Equine out of hours service
Clevedale Vets Equine provide 24-hour out of hours cover for all equine emergencies. If you need us in an emergency, call 01287 623802.
Our out of hours cover
Our weeknight out of hours cover starts at 5pm, and runs until 8.30am the following day.
Our weeknight out of hours cover is provided by our usual team of equine vets including our RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioners. We are also assisted out of hours by John Martin MRCVS.
Our weekend out of hours service starts at 5pm on Friday evening and runs until 8.30am on Monday morning.
Our weekend out of hours cover is provided by our usual team of equine vets including our RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioners.
We are also assisted out of hours by John Martin MRCVS and the experienced team from Durham Equine Practice who help to support one in four of our weekends.
Should you call close to 5pm, your call may be passed to the out of hours vet and depending on your geographical location out of hours fees may be chargeable. Our call answering team will advise you if this is the case.
Visit and examination fees are fixed and do not vary based on geographic location so that our fees are simple, clear and transparent.

Out of hours visit and examination – Includes the visit to your yard and the standard examination of your horse (excluding sedation or additional procedures such as rectal examination)
