IMPORTANT UPDATE NOTICE (24^th MARCH 2020) FOR OUR EQUINE CLIENTS REGARDING CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) 

As we previously committed to do, we have constantly reviewed our protocols to balance the needs of the horses under our care and those of wider society and human health. As a result of the new legislation set out by the government and the clear guidance provided by BEVA, BVA and the RCVS, we are from this point forward until further notice, ceasing all routine work and dealing with EMERGENCIES ONLY. THIS WILL STILL BE 24 HOURS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK.

We are acutely aware of the concerns you may have about this and would like to reassure you that:

·        Our vets will carry out phone or video consults if required and decide on the need for a physical visit or dispense treatment to post out or collect if necessary

·        WE WILL RUN A VACCINE AMNESTY WHEN BUSINESS RETURNS TO NORMAL TO HELP YOU TO RESTART SHOULD YOUR VACCINES LAPSE DURING THIS PERIOD OF ENFORCED LOCKDOWN

 

Please be mindful that this was absolutely the last thing we wanted to do as caring professionals, who believe in the preventative healthcare provided by routine work. We are devastated to be having to reduce our service to these levels but feel our responsibility to the law and human health is paramount to protect our staff and the clients we serve.

The RCVS have categorically told us, as our regulator, that human health must come first at this time. We have a moral, social and legal responsibility to do this BUT WE WILL DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO PROTECT THE WELFARE OF ANIMALS WE TREAT IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES.
